What is NPTEL?
NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) is the engineering and science arm of SWAYAM. It was initiated by seven IITs – Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati, and Roorkee – along with IISc Bangalore, with one clear goal: bring IIT-quality teaching to every engineering student in India, regardless of which college they attend.

Colleges registered as NPTEL Local Chapters actively encourage NPTEL participation, sometimes make it part of internal assessment, and help students register for proctored exams. Many top JNTU-affiliated and Osmania University-affiliated colleges in Hyderabad, Medchal, and Rangareddy districts have active NPTEL chapters.
