Top ENG Courses in Telangana by TGEAPCET 2025 Cut-Off Ranks

Electronics and Electrical Engineering (ENG) courses remain among the most important core engineering disciplines in Telangana. These branches form the foundation of electronics, communication systems, electrical power, embedded systems, instrumentation, semiconductor technologies, and related industries.
The rankings below are based on 2025 TGEAPCET Final Phase OC Boys cut-off ranks. A lower closing rank generally indicates higher student demand, as seats in the most preferred courses and colleges are filled earlier during counselling.

1Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)1192,719
2Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)936,932

How This Ranking Was Prepared

This ranking uses 2025 TGEAPCET Final Phase OC Boys cut-off ranks. For each ENG course, the best available Final Phase closing rank among Telangana engineering colleges was considered. To ensure meaningful comparison, courses offered by fewer than five colleges were excluded from the main ranking.

Key Observations

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) remains the dominant ENG branch in Telangana. Offered by 119 colleges, it achieved the best Final Phase cut-off rank of 2,719, making it one of the most competitive non-computer engineering courses.
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) continues to maintain a strong presence across Telangana engineering colleges. With 93 colleges offering the course and a best cut-off rank of 6,932, it remains a preferred option for students interested in electrical systems, power engineering, renewable energy, and core engineering careers.
  • The significant gap between ECE and EEE reflects the growing preference for electronics, communication systems, semiconductor technologies, embedded systems, and related industries among engineering aspirants.
  • Specialized branches such as Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology), Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Communication and Instrumentation Engineering, and Electronics and Computer Engineering are currently offered by only a small number of colleges and therefore were not included in the main ranking.

Students should consider placements, accreditation, faculty quality, laboratory facilities, industry exposure, and long-term career goals in addition to cut-off ranks while selecting an ENG course during counselling.
